This course is for you if you:
- Sit for a living
- Don’t move your spine too much though the day
- Want to feel younger
- Wish to prevent your body from shrinking with time
- Are keen to keep your discs and your vertebrae healthy
- Would like to move with greater ease
The function of the spine is to elongate, and in this elongation it’s elasticity and your are regained. It is not a battle against old age, but rather a bringing back to life of those parts of the body which have been neglected for so long and which have lost their suppleness.
Vanda Scaravelly “Awakening the spine”
What you will learn in this course:
- How the position of the pelvis affects the curves of the spine and our posture
- How to find neutral pelvis
- Ways to create space in the spine
- Simple and accessible poses to strengthen the back
- Easy ways to open the chest to keep the spine healthy and to have better posture
- How to release the neck
Posture improvement involves developing healthy habits for sitting, standing, and moving, exercises for keeping the postural muscles strong, and developing our proprioceptive sense of alignment in space.
