Here are the answers to some frequently asked questions about fertility yoga.

Is Fertility Yoga suitable for all women who are trying to conceive?

Yes, Fertility Yoga has many tools that can be adapted for everyone.

How much does it cost to book a class?

The prices for 1-2-1 yoga and group classes that can be found here.

What is the main difference between group classes and 1-2-1 classes?

Working 1-2-1 allows us to choose yoga practices that are timed with and support you through your menstrual cycle.

Where do the classes take place?

The 1-2-1 classes can be in person at my home studio in Streatham Wells or online on Zoom.
Group classes take place on Zoom.

Do I need to be able to sit on the floor for long periods of time to benefit from Fertility Yoga classes?

No, people who cannot sit on the floor or dislike doing so can practice sitting on stools or chairs. Some restorative practices, however, are done on the floor for better relaxation.

Do I need to abandon my current yoga routine or any sports activities I enjoy if I attend Fertility Yoga classes?

No, it’s fine to combine Fertility Yoga with your regular yoga practice or any other nurturing and pleasurable activity.

Is it normal to feel emotional in a Fertility Yoga class?

Fertility Yoga includes practices that can produce a release of strong emotions, particularly anger and resentment. These emotions can be released safely to make space for positive feelings. Crying is usually followed by deep feelings of relief and calm.

How many Fertility Yoga classes should I attend to find out whether yoga might work for me?

If you have regular menstrual cycles – allow for four or five menstrual cycles while attending regular classes.

If your cycles are irregular – allow three to four months to find out whether there is any improvement like reduction of interim bleeding, shorter period, reduced blood flow and pain and reduced menstrual tension.

If you are affected by an ovarian issue or if you have endometriosis – allow at least four months of regular fertility yoga practice.

Regular practice at home is also the key to get the benefits from Fertility Yoga.

Once I have conceived, is there any reason why I should continue attending the Fertility Yoga class?

The three weeks following conception are crucial to the success of your conception as the fertilised egg implants in the lining of your uterus. If you have fertility treatment, the success of implantation is even more delicate. Fertility Yoga provides especially suited resources for nurturing the implantation process and help to prevent early loss.
