What length of Thai yoga massage treatment is best to choose? This is a question I get very often when people try to choose from the 1h, 1.5h and 2h options.
So which one is the best? My answer will always be – the 2 hour treatment!
🙌 Traditionally Thai massage is a long treatment, 2 and even more hours. The shorter versions are popular in the West because we have different perception of time and always feel we are a bit short of it.
🙌 Two hours may seem like a long time for many of us Westerners. But that amount of time allows the nervous system to come to its rest and digest mode. That’s when our bodies actually manage to renew, restore and rebalance.
🙌 The two hour treatment offers enough time for the therapist to thoroughly work all 10 main energy lines around the body. As every other Eastern healing modality Thai massage works primarily with the energy circulating our bodies, opening any blockages and freeing its flow.
🙌 Two hours is a great amount of time to work on the whole body. We start from the feet and work our way up covering the legs, hips, abdomen, hands and arms, back, neck, head and face. Apart from the acupressure work there are also lots of wonderful stretches in Thai massage and we work on the back, front and on the side.
🙌 If you haven’t tried the 2h Thai yoga massage, give it a try. You will be surprised how quick it feels and might wonder where the time went at the end!
