New course Yoga for posture improvement: Dump the slump starts on April 18th

Many people have tension and pain in the shoulder and the neck because of collapsed posture. The chest drops down, the shoulders fall forward, the head comes forward. Day after day this is a pattern that builds up, the back becomes more rounded until we become limited in our ability to stand up tall.

Yoga can really help us lift up and strengthen the upper back and bring out the beautiful posture of confidence and enthusiasm.

What you will get out of this course:
  • Improved curves in the spine
  • Realigned head
  • Less tension in the neck and shoulders
  • Feeling of lightness in the upper back
  • Improved breathing
  • Open chest
This course is for you if you:
  • Sit for a living
  • Don’t move your upper body too much throughout the day
  • Want to open your chest and improve your breathing
  • Wish to prevent developing a dowager’s hump over time
  • Are keen to keep your back and neck healthy
  • Would like to move with greater ease
What you will learn in this course:
  • Stretches for the upper chest to free the shoulders
  • How to strengthen the upper back muscles
  • Ways to relax tension in the shoulders
  • Simple techniques to open the chest after a day of sitting
  • How to release the neck

Posture improvement involves developing healthy habits for sitting, standing, and moving, exercises for keeping the postural muscles strong, and developing our proprioceptive sense of alignment in space. Our bodies are amazing in their ability to heal and adapt at any age and it is possible to stop and even reverse the ageing process.
